Back 2 the game: SONIC SPEED 2

SCROLL DOWN FOR ENGLISH VERSION

Bueno, bueno...

  - No fan-characters/OCs/parejas no-canon.

ENGLISH VERSION
Well, well... Time to deliver on the promises.
A year ago, I had this sort of crazy idea, not really sure how well accepted it would get, but the success of the first issue speaks for itself: that's right guys and gals, this year will see SONIC SPEED 2. And we're officially open for sign ups!
Just like last year, it will be released and sold at the Salon del Manga of Barcelona 2014.
Here you have all the information that you need to make the leap; and if you've got any doubt, don't hesitate to drop us an email at sonic.speed.fanzine@gmail.com

What to do to join?

To sign up you must send an email to sonic.speed.fanzine@gmail.com with the title including "[SONIC SPEED 2]" providing the following:
- Name/Nick
- What will you be contributing, illustrations and/or comics?
- Aproximate number of pages/illustrations planned to do (limit will depend of the final number of people inscribed). If it's a comic, a brief synopsis shouls also be included.
- Link to your art gallery of choice, displaying your works (DA, tumblr, etc), or attaching pcitures to the email.
- Have you ever work in a fanzine before?

Inscriptions end around early june. A short while after, you will be notified if you made it in, and you will be given more details, but so you that you know in advance, you will have until mid-september to get everything done; all the summer ahead of you :)

Here are some further considerations to take in consideration before joining:
  - Rating must be between PG-10 and PG-13.

  - The book will be printed in black and white.
   - Page size must be 151x216mm at 600dpi (vertical orientation if possible), with a cutting margin of 3mm at each side. File format should be JPG at very good quality, in CMYK color format.
  - While we're aware not everybody hs got to bo extremely skilled, the first volume set the bar quite high, and we're aiming to improve upon it, so a minimum quality will be in place, trying to value effort and finished feel. It is a given, but just in case, your art should not be copied/traced/based off too much on official art. Just to avoid possible headaches later on.
- Trying to learn from past experience, this time there will be a quality control mid-way, around late august. We reserve the right to not accept a comic or illustration if it doesn't meet our criteria.
- Being a fanzine comics are much preferred over illustrations
- Both illustrations and comics must be unreleased works.
- Maximum of about 2 or 3 illustrations per artist, depending on the amount of comics we have. The more comics, the less likely that illustrations will have to be discarded.

- Comics should be stand-alone, and while there is no fixed limit, around 10 pages should be a goof limit reference.
- No fancharacters/OCs/non-canon pairings are allowed. Since the public this fanzine is targeted to doesn't necessarily have to be up to speed with the fandom, they most surely won't know about it, nor will they care. Sonic and co. should still be the focus of the whole thing. Gijinkas and crossovers  would be welcome, but should be relevant (like Sonic vs Mario, or other videogames somewhat related to SEGA/sonic).
- The theme is moments, scenes and memories from the Sonic games, but humour and parodies will be welcomed as well. Works about the animated western animated series AOSTH and SatAm will also be accepted, but not those from the comics. This a fanzine aimed first for a spanish audience, and the comics were never published here.

- Contributions from people anywhere in the world will be accepted, but keep in mind, this a spanish fanzine first, and so it will be published first in spanish. If you're planning on doing a comic, it should be translated to spanish, or let us know well in advance, so that we can translate it.
- While we won't enforce total exclusivity of the works submitted just for the printed fanzine only, we would appreciate at least a temporal exclusivity of most of the pictures, for a couple of months after releasint the fanzine (for example half a year). We would also appreciate that comics wouldn't be published in its entirety for at least a year. After that you're free to what you want. If you still want to publish anything earlier, we can talk it out :).
- And lastly, but no less important, this is after all a non-profit fazine, made by fans for fans, to pay tribute to Sonic and his games. While no economic compensation is given, every contributor will get a free copy of the fanbook (shipping costs at their expense). And of course proper credit would begiven, that's a given. :)

And that's about it. For any clarifications, email away :)

Hope you decide join along!
